Heteroglyphs 2016-2018
“Heteroglyph” is a word I coined for “assemblage” to distinguish my purposes from those of better-known exponents like Grosz, Schwitters, Marisol and Rauschenberg. Most of the Heteroglyphs are wall-mounted and the earlier ones are typically much larger than those that were made from 2016-18. Most consist of components mounted on a backboard, which can be as simple as a thick piece of plywood but include, plastic, metal, paneling from a piano, chair seats and sides, polystyrene foam and printer components. Among fragments attached to these surfaces, ceramic limbs and heads - pre-modelled are nearly ubiquitous. The rest is mostly found objects or fragments thereof.
